Feb. 28: U.S. Defense Official Brendan McCord to Discuss Artificial Intelligence and National Security

Brendan McCord, senior advisor for AI (artificial intelligence), U.S. Department of Defense, will present Bucknell’s third annual National Security Forum Lecture on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Elaine Langone Center Forum. His free, public talk is entitled “Artificial Intelligence and National Security: Transforming the U.S. Department of Defense.”

McCord is an expert on artificial intelligence (AI) and national security who helped launch the Joint AI Center and was Head of Machine Learning at the Defense Innovation Unit at the Department of Defense. He is also an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security in Washington, and served as a fast attack submarine officer in the U.S. Navy.

The National Security Forum Lecture is sponsored by a member of the Class of 1957 and the political science department.
