April 23: Bucknell Professor Hosts Green New Deal Town Hall

Bucknell environmental studies professor Andrew Stuhl welcomes members of the community to participate in a Green New Deal town hall meeting on Tuesday, April 23, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Forum, Elaine Langone Center. Participants will be encouraged to share their vision of the Susquehanna Valley in 2050 and what will be needed to achieve that vision.

April 27-28: Bucknell Dance Company to Present Spring Dance Concert

The Bucknell Dance Company will perform its spring dance concert on Saturday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 28 at 2 p.m. in the Weis Center for the Performing Arts.  The concert is part of the Department of Theatre and Dance's mainstage season. Tickets are $12 regular admission or $7 for students, senior citizens and children and are available by calling 570-577-1000, at bucknell.edu/boxoffice or at any campus box office location.

May 10-11: Panda’s Home, an interactive experience ideal for ages 4-7, comes to the Weis Center

Panda’s Home, an enchanting and interactive performance that allows audience members to take a journey to ancient China, following the footprints left by a panda, will be presented by Italian-based company Compagnia TPO on Saturday, May 11 during three public performances: 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. This performance will take place on the Weis Center stage, therefore seating is limited to 100 patrons per performance. Tickets for the performances are $20 for adults, $16 for seniors 62+, $10 for youth 18 and under, $10 for Bucknell employees and retirees (limit 2), $10 for Bucknell students (limit 2), and $10 for non-Bucknell college students (limit 2). Tickets can be purchased online at Bucknell.edu/BoxOffice or by calling 570-577-1000.

Jonathan Frey, an art professor at Bucknell, is presenting a solo exhibition entitled Language and Other Games at the Samek Art Museum's Downtown Gallery, 416 Market Street, Lewisburg, through Sunday, May 19. The Downtown Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday between 12 noon and 5 p.m. and all exhibitions and public programs are free and open to the public.

July 17: Bucknell Centennial Memorial Service to Mark Victims of the ‘Red Terror’

Orthodox Christians in the area will commemorate the centennial with an Akathist prayer service led by the Very Rev. Archpriest Claude Vinyard and conducted by vocalist Matushka Anna Sharonoff at Bucknell's Rooke Chapel on Sunday, July 17, from 7-8 p.m. The service will include brief historical talks by Bucknell English professor Alf  Siewers and Father George Sharonoff.
