Feb. 28: U.S. Defense Official Brendan McCord to Discuss Artificial Intelligence and National Security

Brendan McCord, senior advisor for AI (artificial intelligence), U.S. Department of Defense, will present Bucknell's third annual National Security Forum Lecture on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Elaine Langone Center Forum. His free, public talk is entitled "Artificial Intelligence and National Security: Transforming the U.S. Department of Defense."

Feb. 28: Famed Flamenco Artist Comes to the Weis Center

Farraquito, the greatest flamenco dancer of this new century according to The New York Times, will perform in the Weis Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and subscribers, $15 for youth and Bucknell employees and retirees, and $10 for Bucknell students. They can be purchased online or at the Campus Box Office.

March 26: Artist Jeneen Njootli to Speak on Indigeneity

Artist Jeneen Njootli will deliver a free, public talk entitled, "Indigeneity: Making the Visible Seen" on Tuesday, March 26 at 7 p.m. in Bucknell's Forum, Elaine Langone Center (Room 272). Her talk is part of the "Indigeneity: Making the Visible Seen" series presented by Bucknell's Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Gender.

March 29: Bucknell Jazz Band to Play with Guest Artist Jennifer Wharton

The Bucknell Jazz Band will play a concert with jazz low brass guest artist Jennifer Wharton on Friday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Weis Center for the Performing Arts as part of the Jazz at Bucknell series. This performance is free and open to the public.

April 10: Carol Wayne White to Speak About Black Lives and Sacred Humanity

Carol Wayne White, Bucknell religious studies professor, will deliver a free, public talk entitled "Black Lives and Sacred Humanity" on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Great Room of the University's Hildreth-Mirza Hall. Her talk is part of the Bucknell Griot Institute Spring 2019 Lecture and Performance Series, "The Black Unfamiliar in the 21st Century," and co-sponsored by the University's Department of History.

April 26-27: Bucknell to Explore Ecology, Human Rights During Annual Sustainability Symposium

Famed Columbia University climate scientist Dr. James Hansen, whose 1988 Congressional testimony on climate change helped raise broad awareness of global warming, will be the keynote speaker when Bucknell University’s Center for Sustainability and the Environment (BCSE) presents its seventh annual Sustainability Symposium Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27. This year’s symposium theme is “Envisioning the Future: Energy, Climate, & Human Rights.”
