Sept. 24: Pianist John Salmon to Play at Rooke Recital Hall

The Bucknell Piano Series and Jazz@Bucknell join forces for the first time, presenting pianist John Salmon in a free concert at Rooke Recital Hall, located in the Sigfried Weis Music Building, on Monday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will feature compositions by Beethoven, Dave Brubeck, and Salmon’s own jazzy take on Bach’s two-part inventions.

As professor of piano at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Salmon has distinguished himself as both a classical and jazz artist. He has performed on four continents, with concert programs ranging from an all-Liszt recital in Mexico City to an all-Brubeck recital in Washington, D.C. He has recorded four discs of Brubeck’s piano music on the Phoenix, Naxos and Albany labels, and is frequently engaged as a teacher and lecturer around the country.
