Oct. 23: Big Data, Cyber Security and Privacy Lecture Slated

Tom Kurfess, professor and HUSCO/Ramirez Distinguished Chair in Fluid Power and Motion Control at Georgia Tech, will present “Big Data, Cyber Security, and Privacy: Can we have all three?” on Monday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. Professor Kurfess will be speaking about his observations as both an engineer and a public policy advisor.

Although his research at Georgia Tech is primarily focused on manufacturing engineering, Kurfess held previous positions in the Office of Science and Technology Policy in the Executive Office of the President during the Obama Administration, and at Carnegie Mellon University in the Department of Engineering and Public Policy. He continues to serve as a congressional policy advisor.
