Jonathan Frey, an art professor at Bucknell, is presenting a solo exhibition entitled Language and Other Games at the Samek Art Museum‘s Downtown Gallery, 416 Market Street, Lewisburg, through Sunday, May 19. The Downtown Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday between 12 noon and 5 p.m. and all exhibitions and public programs are free and open to the public.
The current exhibit investigates the way the structure of a typical game can simulate social and cultural structures. Frey relies on understanding the relationships between form, content and context in order to produce visual communications that have a dialog with contemporary culture. He has a deep appreciation for artists and designers who use communication to build connections between individuals and communities, and believes that through the proper methodologies, artists and designers can use their positions as communicators to facilitate positive social change.
