Through May 25: Weis Center To Feature Art from 10 Local Artists

The Weis Center for the Performing Arts, in collaboration with the Columbia-Montour Visitors Bureau and the Susquehanna River Arts initiative, will host a free art exhibit and installation featuring the work of 10 local artists from Tuesday, April 3 through Friday, May 25 in the Weis Center’s upper Atrium Lobby.

March 6: Australian Contemporary Circus Company comes to Weis Center

Circa, a contemporary circus/cirque ensemble from Australia, will perform on Tuesday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets can be purchased online at Bucknell.edu/BoxOffice or by calling 570-577-1000.Tickets are also available in person from several locations including the Weis Center lobby and the CAP Center Box Office, located on the ground floor of the Elaine Langone Center.

Air Play, a whimsical contemporary cirque performance, will float into the Weis Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at Bucknell.edu/BoxOffice or by calling 570-577-1000. April 4: MLK Moment of Reflection Planned

The President’s Diversity Council and the MLK Week Committee will lead a moment of silence and reflection on the 50th year since the assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Wednesday, April 4, at 11:45 a.m. at the Brawley/King Bust, Vaughn Literature Garden, in the Humanities Quad. The rain location will be the lobby of the Weis Center for the Performing Arts.

April 4: Artist Dread Scott to Discuss Activism and the Erasure of Subversive Art

Contemporary artist Dread Scott will deliver a free, public talk titled "Activism and the Erasure of Subversive Art: Imagine a World without America" on Wednesday, April 4, at 7 p.m. in the Gallery Theatre of the Elaine Langone Center. A reception with Scott will follow in the Samek Art Museum.

April 5: Traditional Hula Ensemble Comes to Weis Center

Traditional hula ensemble Hālau Hula Ka No‘eau will perform on Thursday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. There will be a free pre-performance talk on the same day as the performance from 1-2 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium Lobby. The talk will include a brief history of hula and an informal hula dance lesson.

April 29: Bucknell Intercollegiate Film Festival to Screen 16 Student Films Sunday

The third biennial Bucknell Intercollegiate Film Festival (BIFF) will take place on Sunday, April 29 at 7 p.m. at the historic Campus Theatre in downtown Lewisburg. A post-festival catered reception is scheduled at the Samek Art Museum’s Downtown Art Gallery across the street from the theatre.
