Erin Ellis, a cellist and assistant professor in the School of Music at West Virginia University, will perform a free, public concert on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. in the Natalie Davis Rooke Recital Hall, Sigfried Weis Music Building.
Ellis has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across the United States and Canada, Chile, Italy and Holland. As a chamber musician, she has appeared as a collaborator with the Arneis Quartet in Boston, and with the Lyon Piano Trio, which made its international debut in the 2017-18 season. Formerly based in Atlanta, she served as assistant principal cello of the Atlanta Opera, principal cellist of the Columbus (Ga.) Symphony Orchestra, and continues to perform with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. Ellis is also an accomplished baroque cellist and performs regularly with the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra. She can be heard on several recordings with the New Trinity Baroque Orchestra.
