The Bucknell Office of Multicultural Student Services will host Dr. Joy DeGruy — an internationally renowned researcher, educator, author and presenter — for a free, public talk related to her book, Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome: America’s Legacy of Enduring Injury and Healing, on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. in the Elaine Langone Center Forum.
Dr. DeGruy is a leading voice for those populations who have struggled in search of the past and continue to struggle through the present. In addition to her aforementioned book, she has a second book in the works, Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome Part 2: Be The Healing.
This event is part of the UnHerd series, an educational outreach series sponsored by Multicultural Student Services. Now in its third year, Unherd provides in-depth social justice trainings and workshops.
