Oct. 23: Robbins to Present Annual ‘Ghosts and Hauntings’ Talk

Rich Robbins, associate dean of Bucknell University's College of Arts and Sciences and a certified parapsychologist, will present his annual "Ghosts and Hauntings: Decide for Yourself" talk on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in Trout Auditorium of the University's Vaughan Literature Building.  His talk is free and open to the public.

Dec. 1: Fiona Powell Presents Holiday Storytelling and Cookie Decorating

Celtic storyteller Fiona Powell will present a holiday story hour to families in Bucknell Hall on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The annual free, public event is intended for children ages 4 to 11. The story hour will be followed by a cookie-decorating session, with all cookies and supplies provided to attendees.

Feb. 5-6: Imago Brings Family-Friendly Frogz to Weis Center for Evening Performance, Schools Matinee

Imago Theatre will bring its kid-friendly production, Frogz, to the Weis Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. There will also be a special matinee for schools and homeschool families (groups of 10 or more) in the Weis Center on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. Tickets for the Feb. 5 public performance are $20 for adults, $16 for seniors 62+, $10 for youth 18 and under, $10 for Bucknell employees and retirees (limit 2), $10 for Bucknell students (limit 2), and $10 for non-Bucknell college students (limit 2). Tickets for the matinee are $6 for students and chaperones are free.

Contemporary Chinese folk ensemble Sounds of China will perform in the Weis Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors 62 and over and subscribers, $15 for youth 18 and under, $15 for Bucknell employees and retirees (limit 2), $10 for Bucknell students (limit 2), and $15 for non-Bucknell college students (limit 2). Feb. 10: Yumi Kurosawa to Team Up with Anubrata Chatterjee in Weis Center Performance

Koto visionary Yumi Kurosawa will team up with world-renowned tabla player Anubrata Chatterjee for a free concert that brings together two expressive world musical traditions — bridging the cultures of Japan and India — on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. in the Weis Center for the Performing Arts Atrium.

Feb. 18: Mexican Folk Music Comes to Weis Center in Free Family Discovery Performance

Mexican folk music will be performed by Sonia De Los Santos and her multicultural band on Monday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. The Family Discovery performance is free and tickets are not required. Attendees are asked to bring a canned food item, which will be distributed to local families in need.

Feb. 19: National Geographic Live: Ocean Photographer Brian Skerry Visits Weis Center

National Geographic ocean photographer Brian Skerry will present a multimedia presentation called “Ocean Soul” on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Bucknell University's Weis Center for the Performing Arts. A book signing with Skerry will take place after the presentation in the Weis Center Atrium. Tickets for the engagement are $30 for adults, $24 for seniors 62 and over, $20 for youth 18 and under, $20 for Bucknell employees and retirees (limit 2), $10 for Bucknell students (limit 2), and $20 for non-Bucknell college students (limit 2).
