The Samek Art Museum will host Painted Pages: Illuminated Manuscripts 13th-18th Centuries, this year’s first exhibition, starting on Saturday, Aug. 11 in the Samek Gallery, located on the top floor of Bucknell’s Elaine Langone Center. The exhibition will run through Sept. 30.
Painted Pages is an exhibition made up of over 35 works consisting of medieval Bibles, prayer books, psalters, books of hours, choir books, missals, breviaries and lectionaries from the 13th to 18th centuries, drawn from the collection of the Reading Public Museum. Some works feature gold leaf decoration and intricate design and ornament.
The Samek Gallery is open 12 noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
