The Bucknell Opera Theatre program will conduct a free, public “One Night Only” performance on Saturday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Natalie Davis Rooke Recital Hall in the Sigfried Weis Music Building.
Under the direction of music professor Emily Martin, the Opera Theatre program offers a variety of training in opera and musical theatre genres with opportunities to perform and direct. Students perform works by composers such as Mozart, Sondheim, Barber, Bernstein, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and Purcell.
Bucknell operate students have been selected as finalists in the National Opera Association Collegiate Scenes Competition, as Young Artists for programs such as Opera Steamboat and Taos Opera Institute, and have attended Masters Programs in Voice Performance at Peabody Conservatory, Boston Conservatory and Westminster Choir College, among others.
